Jing Sun, Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Department Chair, has been elected a Fellow of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC).
The IFAC is a scholarly society devoted to the theory and application of automatic control and systems engineering in diverse fields, including engineering, biological, social and economic systems.
The IFAC Fellow Award is given to persons who have made outstanding and extraordinary contributions in the field of interest of IFAC, in the role as an Engineer/Scientist, Technical Leader, or Educator. The first Fellows were elected at the IFAC World Congress in Prague in July 2005.
Sun was awarded for contributions to adaptive control, automotive and marine powertrain control systems. She will receive her pin and certificate at the 2020 World Congress in Berlin.
