Kevin Maki has been appointed as the Richard B. Couch Development Professor for Marine Hydrodynamics.
Kevin Maki has been appointed as the Richard B. Couch Development Professor for Marine Hydrodynamics, College of Engineering, effective October 1, 2019 – September 30, 2021.
This appointment was approved by the Regents at their October meeting. The Richard B. Couch Professorship in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering was established by John C. Couch (NAME BSE 1963/MSE 1964) to support the teaching and scholarship of a distinguished faculty member in the area of marine hydrodynamics in honor of his late father who served as the department chair from 1957-1967.
The Development Professorship for Professor Kevin Maki is the first such appointment in the department to recognize the outstanding accomplishments and exceptional academic potential of a junior faculty.
