Faculty Positions

The Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NA&ME) at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, invites applications at all levels for one or more full-time tenure track faculty positions with preference given to applicants at the assistant professor level.

The Department seeks candidates with research interests in any aspect(s) of naval architecture and marine engineering, especially either in ship and marine structures, or marine autonomy. Candidates having degrees in related fields – such as but not limited to mechanical, aerospace, electrical, and civil engineering; computer science, robotics, or autonomy – whose work is relevant to naval architecture and marine engineering will be fully considered.

Candidates are required to have a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline. The successful candidate is expected to establish an independent research program and to contribute effectively to the Department’s undergraduate and graduate instructional programs. The College of Engineering is especially interested in candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the University of Michigan’s academic community.
